Ingredients
  • 1 kg Mutton
  • 4 Potato (medium size)
  • 2 Onion (medium size, slice them)
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 2 tbsp Garlic Ginger paste
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Whole Spices
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 6-7 Whole black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (slightly roasted)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt (or as per taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Red chilli (powder)
  • 2-3 Black cardamom pods
Instructions
  1. Take a deep pot half-filled with water ( 1 liter ). Add mutton, onion, ginger garlic paste, green chilli, all spices and cover. Cook on medium heat till the mutton gets tender. It may take 50 minutes without a tenderizing agent or cooker.
  2. Once the meat gets soft, cook it on high flame to remove all the excess water out. Add oil at this point and sizzle the mutton for 3-4 minutes. Now add yogurt and cook for more 4-5 minutes.
  3. When the oil starts to separate from gravy add potatoes in it and stir for 2 minutes. Add one glass of water and cover the pot to let the potatoes cook well. Cook on medium to low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Dish out the curry and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and green chilli (finely chopped). Sever with roti or naan.
Recipe Notes

You can adjust the gravy of curry by adding more or less water.
